Introduce studios to Recess. Get paid when they go live.
We are hiring field sales reps in eleven cities. It is part-time, it is commission only, and it suits people who already know how a studio actually runs.
What the work is
Recess is studio and gym management software. It is free for a studio to use — there is no monthly fee — and we earn a service fee of about 5% that the member pays at checkout. That changes this job. You are not asking an owner to find room in a budget.
You find studios in your city that are not on Recess yet, introduce them, and get them to a demo. Our team runs the demo and handles the migration from whatever they are on now.
You do not start from a blank page. We hand you the studios in your city that are not on Recess yet: martial arts schools, dance studios, gymnastics clubs, yoga and pilates studios, boxing gyms and CrossFit boxes.
A conversation, a walk-in, a message. However you would actually do it.
You get them to the table. Our team takes it from there.
On the demo, again when they go live, and a little every month while they stay. There is no cap on any of it.
Who we are looking for
People who already know this industry from the inside. Any one of these is a strong fit.
- You own, or have owned, a studio or gym.
- You have worked the front desk, assisted, or run the floor.
- You have been a field rep for someone else selling into gyms — supplements, drinks, equipment, supplies.
- You have spent years in this industry in some other role and you know everyone in your city.
We care whether you know this industry and the people in it. We are not looking for a sales CV.
How you get paid
Commission only. No base, and no cap.
You are paid three times on the same studio:
- When a qualified studio you introduced sits down for a demo.
- A larger amount when they go live on Recess.
- A small amount every month for as long as they stay.
Qualified means an operating studio with paying members that was not already in conversation with us. You will get that definition in writing before you start, so there is nothing to argue about later.
We will tell you the exact numbers before you start. And because Recess is free for studios to use, nothing you introduce lands an owner with a monthly bill — which usually makes this the easiest conversation in the industry.
One thing we are strict about
This is about studios that are not on Recess yet. We are not asking anyone to bring a current employer's members, data or business anywhere, and we will not put you in that position.
